Discover the wonders of Redlands Coast – outdoor, cultural, and coastal adventures await

Adventure lovers are spoilt for choice on Redlands Coast, with a wide range of unique experiences on offer.

Dine on farm-to-plate produce at Wellington Point Farmhouse, book a winery tour or wine tasting at Sirromet Winery in Mount Cotton, or take a walk at low-tide across the sand from Wellington Point to tiny uninhabited King Island.

The whale watching season is well underway and Point Lookout on North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah) offers the perfect spot for land-based whale watching. More than 40,000 whales pass by the island every year from June to November to reach the warmer northern waters before returning south during spring, often with calves close by their sides.

There are a range of tours and experiences available on Minjerribah to continue your island adventure. Immerse yourself in ancient traditions and discover Quandamooka culture on a guided tour, or browse local art galleries, studios and museums. Head along the beaches on a 4×4 tour, go on a sandboarding adventure, take in the spectacular views along the Minjerribah Panorama Coastal Walk and Gorge Walk, go beach fishing, or explore your way around the nine-hole golf course set among nature.

Redlands Coast has no shortage of island getaways. Take a ten-minute ferry ride from Victoria Point to Coochiemudlo Island (Goochie Mudlo) for a family day out featuring beach picnics, wetland walks or a five-kilometre stroll around the island’s Emerald Fringe. On Macleay Island you can have a game of barefoot bowls along the waterfront and enjoy dining from a range of eateries. For the more adventurous, set sail around the islands and discover Redlands Coast’s unique coastline.

From camping and glamping to hotels, apartments, resorts and luxury holiday homes, there is something to suit every budget.

Redlands Coast is also home to a diverse range of coastal adventures, including kayaking, stand up paddleboarding and watercraft experiences along Moreton Bay. There are also internationally significant wetlands and conservation areas, native botanic gardens, national parks and vast tracts of unspoiled bushland. There are areas perfect for hiking and wildlife spotting and many walking, cycling and mountain bike tracks and trails. Redlands Coast is also home to a thriving creative arts community, with community, public and private galleries on both the mainland and islands.

For the ultimate in adventure, mark your calendars for the second Redlands Coast AdventureFest to be held from 15 to 24 May 2026. AdventureFest includes active and outdoor events showcasing the bay, islands, mountains and conservation reserves alongside more relaxed adventures such as culinary tastings, art workshops and feature talks.
